Stove Top: 1. Combine Durkee Brown Gravy Mix and cold water in saucepan; stir with wire whisk, fork or spoon until blended. 2. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat; simmer, stirring, 1 minute or until thickened.

Microwave: Combine ingredients in 1-quart microwave-safe bowl. Stir with wire whisk, fork or spoon until blended. Microwave on High (100%) 3 to 4 minutes, stirring after each minute. Stir before serving. Note: Tested in 650 watt microwave oven; adjust cooking time as needed.

For a Change of Pace: For richer gravy, stir 2 tablespoons meat drippings or butter into prepared gravy. Stir 1 cup sauteed mushrooms and 1/2 cup sour cream into prepared gravy. Stir in 1 to 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish; serve over hot roast beef sandwiches. Stir in 1 to 2 tablespoons red wine. Makes 1 cup.
